1911 One Room School
Come on inside -- be a kid again -- sit at a desk and dip your pen in the ink well -- do some math on a slate -- warm your hands over the wood stove -- drink from the dipper.
This building was originally constructed at a location North of Newport and was moved to its present location in 1977. Thirty Two schools were in existence when Pend Oreille County was formed. Most were one room schools with one teacher for all 8 grades.
