River Valley Lifestyle Shelter
This shelter protects this antique ox-driven treadmill and farm utility wagon. It was designed and built in 2022 by River Valley Lifestyle, a Newport-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed in 2019 in partnership with the Pend Oreille County Historical Society.
River Valley Lifestyle’s mission is to promote the arts and humanities in the Inland Northwest and preserve, maintain & improve public recreational and cultural amenities. They
collaborated with the Pend Oreille County Historical Society Museum to transport the treadmill from the Owen Pioneer Museum in Chattaroy, to this location. The process of moving the treadmill took lots of care and coordination to preserve the historic integrity of this antique artifact.
A public celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony was held in June 2023, welcoming this display to the Pend Oreille County community.
